7 is Beach House’s most experimental album yet, adding psychedelic and shoegaze elements and textures, giving their candy-coated dream pop sound an extra dose of colour, in contrast to its monochromatic artwork.

Songs like Dark Spring should appeal to fans of shoegaze. Pay No Mind evokes memories of early Smashing Pumpkins. Lead single Lemon Glow makes use of some pitch-shifting electronic sounds. Black Car is ethereal and hypnotic. Drunk in L.A. paints a scene of an ocean of neon.

7 is another typically sublime Beach House album and their most adventurous album yet.
