Like Made in Timeland, both of the songs on Laminated Denim are exactly 15 minutes in length, with the title itself being an anagram of its sister album — the difference here though, is that instead of electronic music, Laminated Denim continues the jam band rock of Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava, though there is more of a krautrock influence here.

Similarly to the Made in Timeland title track, The Land Before Timeland starts off with a 60bpm beat, before switching gears to a Neu! style motorik beat; the driving Hypertension is a similar krautrock track, with plenty of incredible guitar interplay between Stu Mackenzie, Joey Walker and Cook Craig.

Laminated Denim is an excellent record that compliments Made in Timeland, with plenty more of the impressive jamming that’s permeated much of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s 2022 albums.
