Genres: Space Rock, Ambient

The Musiquarium’s The Endless River Review Score: 5 out of 10

Arriving 20 years after Pink Floyd’s (then) final album, The Division Bell, The Endless River continues with the David Gilmour-led iteration of the band, so Roger Waters is still nowhere to be found. Nearly all of The Endless River is comprised of ambient instrumentals, with only one song (Louder Than Words) containing any vocals, and it mostly just sounds like a Division Bell outtake.

If you’re expecting something akin to classic Pink Floyd, then readjust your expectations, as The Endless River will leave you feeling empty and unsatisfied, especially after a 20 year wait. The album acts as a nice enough tribute to the band’s late keyboard player Rick Wright (who died in 2008), but that’s the only nice thing I have to say about it.
